ABOUT THE DUO
Author Sara Carbone, writing as Sarita Carballo, is a writing tutor and copywriter, creating ad copy, social media posts, and more. She is influenced by amazing books she read growing up (like Leo the Late Bloomer, Harry the Dirty Dog, and A Little Princess) and the countless books she has read to her two kids. Sara is also inspired by her love of performing, her Puerto Rican heritage and her piles of kooky hair.
Author-illustrator Roger Phillips has illustrated works for McGraw-Hill (the Spanish language book Mi Gato Paco) and Scholastic (Storyworks magazine) and was a daily strip cartoonist for the Roswell Daily Record for nine years. He has been steeped in Hungarian culture all his life, and his work is influenced by everything from Hungarian folk tales and Saturday morning cartoons to the latest from the Society of Illustrators. Roger keeps his inner child alive by playing board games and listening to the amazing ramblings of young children.
When not creating fanciful, adventurous picture books together, Sara and Roger enjoy crafting quirky sculptures, tooling around in classic cars, and pursuing wondrous adventures, just like their characters.
